Bight Header7 Project Vertical

PROJECT VERTICAL

We're pushing to reach 100 million vertical feet of gear testing and we want your help!

A mountain-sized congratulations to our Project Vertical winners Sarah Lee, Nate Dodge, Amanda Gehrich and Bennett Fisher! Thanks again to everyone who participated and shared their stoke for gear and the outdoors!

Project Vertical Contest

Behind every piece of gear we build, there is a minimum of 100,000 vertical feet of testing done by our team of guides to validate each design (it's our 100K Promise – check it out!). But that number is just the beginning. We’ve reached over 50 million vertical feet of testing to date by guides and climbers on Mt. Rainier and beyond. We love this gear testing thing so much we’re keeping the party going!

Bight Gear is excited to be teamed up with Garmin for this project, and testers will use fēnix® 5 Plus series watches and the inReach® Mini to track our progress and communicate on high peaks around the world.

The Details

We believe gear should be built on the mountain by the people who are using it, and that includes you. We’ve partnered with BACKPACKER to create a special opportunity for you to be part of our Bight Gear test team and help us reach 100 million vertical feet. Contest winners will:

  • Win a chance to be part of our process and use Bight prototypes in the field.
  • Help shape the next generation of outdoor gear with your direct input.
  • Rope up with RMI Expeditions guides on a 2019 4-day Mt. Rainier summit climb.
