We live in the mountains. We work in the mountains. We play in the mountains. We take care of the mountains.
The mountains are our home and we are committed to protecting and enhancing them. They are central to what we do here at Bight as guides, climbers, and outdoor enthusiasts. Part of our effort in trying to help preserve these amazing places is to educate today’s youth, and work to inspire stewardship and a lifelong passion for the outdoors.
We’ve partnered with the SheJumps’ Wild Skills youth initiative that provides outdoor education to girls ages 6-17 with the goal of helping girls learn, have fun and connect in an encouraging environment with support from female mentors. Last summer, Bight hosted a skills clinic for young girls on Mt. Rainier led by RMI female guides that taught basic mountaineering skills, and provided a safe, fun opportunity to practice these new skills in an amazing mountain setting.
We're growing our partnership with SheJumps Wild Skills and adding programs in 2018 to continue providing outdoor learning opportunities for young girls in the mountains. Be sure to visit their website and learn more about this great organization!
